Our classes
At Little Italy Language School, we believe in nurturing each child’s love for the Italian language through age-appropriate, engaging, and culturally rich experiences. Our classes are designed to support bilingual and non-bilingual learners alike, celebrating progress and building a joyful sense of community.
Bilingual students
Ages 6–7
Focus on learning to read and write in Italian using age-appropriate texts and playful exercises.
Ages 8–9
Children explore sentence structure and morphosyntax, and begin writing simple descriptive texts.
Ages 10–12
Emphasis on text analysis and comprehension, and writing short narrative texts with correct grammar and structure.
All bilingual classes include a "Cultura Italiana" segment, where children learn in Italian about a wide variety of topics such as fairy tales, Italian geography, animals, history, and more.
Italian as a foreign language
Ages 6–12, divided into classes according to age and number of participants
A welcoming space for children with little or no prior knowledge of Italian.
Lessons focus on learning everyday expressions, basic phrases, and an introduction to reading and writing. To support beginner-level students, lessons will be taught in English.
Each lesson is thoughtfully designed by qualified native-speaking educators to build strong foundations in both spoken and written Italian. Small class sizes, engaging materials, and a supportive atmosphere ensure that every child receives the attention they need to progress.
GSCE preparation
This course is designed to develop the key language skills required for exam success: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students build a solid understanding of vocabulary and grammar, with a focus on the themes and topics specified in the GCSE curriculum. Lessons include regular practice of exam-style questions, helping learners become familiar with the format and expectations. Speaking skills are developed through structured conversations and role plays, boosting confidence and fluency. The course aims to support students in achieving strong results while developing practical communication skills in Italian.
